A sample of assets I had the pleasure of working on as an Outsource Artist during the development of Dead Island 2.
My responsibilities as an Outsource Artist included:
- Creating advanced greyboxes for various environment and cutscene assets; from large building structures and
animated hero assets to smaller props.
- Liaising with internal and external art teams to generate the desired asset collaboratively.
- Producing comprehensible detailed briefs often containing specifics regarding workflow and technical requirements.
- Proactively providing constructive feedback regarding technical concerns and visual cohesion in game.
- Integrating and reworking assets when necessary.
I had a great time working with the Outsource vendors at Sperasoft and Ulysses Graphics and got to get my hands on a lot of assets in a short period of time which really helped develop my knowledge and experience of environment art production.
